The sound box of the GD71CE has been shaped using rosewood topped with a solid spruce panel while the mahogany neck is finished with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. The combination of these wood types shapes a direct sound with plenty of depth, warmth and just the right amount of brightness. The body is finished with elegant maple bindings that run along the edge of the body, neck and head and are echoed by the maple position markers while the sound hole is surrounded by an abalone pearl inlay. To maintain optimum tuning stability, the attention to detail extends to the two part bridge.

For performing and recording, the GD71CE is fitted with Takamine's very own comprehensive TK-40D preamp. Here, you'll find a volume control and 3-band EQ to shape your onstage sound, next to a Mid Contour pot to add some boost to the mid frequencies (400Hz) and deliver some punch and rounded attack to your overall tone. The Notch Filter seeks out and dampens any frequencies that might be causing you unwanted feedback while an auto-chromatic tuner with LED display keeps your tuning in check.
